I've had this annoying rattle for the last few months. Seems to come from the hood. It started after a ride on the sand dunes. I think i finally discovered where it comes from, I can replicate the sound when I press the front (center) of the hood. Does anyone know how to stop this annoying rattle?

Tepui,

You can probably adjust the rubber stops on the corners of the hood so it keeps the hood a little higher. Or adjust the latch mechanism down so it will keep the hood tighter against the stops. You'll have to see for yourself.

I second that!!, before I changed mines the hood was really really noisy and after I put them in you can't imagine the amount of noises that I save by just putting the rubber of the corners of the hood

I adjusted the rubber stops but the :censor: noise is still there. I'll keep investigating.

Tepui have you checked if the crossmebers underside the hood have separated from the top part ( look under the insulation under the hood). Its something tha can happen from a crash or hard 4 wheelin. If that is the case you have to glue it back together probably in a body shop.

They look fine. My vehicle hasn't been crashed or wheeled hard. The rattle is killing me. But I'm very optimistic about finding it, I'll keep tracking it down.

rattles and squeaks

Don't you hate those annoying noises!!! Body rattles can travel and be amplified to come out in the oddest spots.

The 80 has had a squeak in the rear for years - as I cleaned out the crud to get ready to sell it - i found a shiny bottle top jammed under the cargo barrier! No more squeak!!!
