Got a new FJ Cruiser....again. Had an early Voodoo Blue, then my TRD Edition, now a white one with auto, Offroad pkg, and a few other things. Got it with simple steel wheels.

This is going to be my wife's daily driver so I'm not going to do too much to it. She wanted a Trail Teams Edition because she doesn't like the silver accents (bumper ends front and back, grill, valance, mirrors, door handles, etc) but she wanted to go new so I did a little checking. I compared painting them and just ordering replacement parts for a TTE and ended up deciding on just getting replacement parts.

So this will just be a quick before and after thread. Going to replace those parts, throw on a Revtek 3" lift, 295-65-18 Duratracs, and KMC Rockstar wheels (yeah I know, but she loves them and it'll probably never see anything worse than a gravel road). Sorry these initial pictures are so terrible, phone cam was acting up.

Not terribly exciting stuff as far as being unique or techy, but 3 of the 5 tires are here and the lift is under way..

Got the lift and tires on. I haven't figure out what I'm going to do with the rear wheel yet. It's mounted, but the center cap star thing isn't on because it blocks the view from the backup cam. Going to have to play around with it and either cut a hole in it, or relocate the camera.

Here are a couple pics. Sorry, taken in the dark so poor quality, but you get the idea. I have ordered the front and rear bumper ends, mirrors, door handles, grill surround, and lower piece in the bumper. All ordered with part numbers from the Trail Teams edition. Total cost for all parts is about $900 and install should take me a half day or so....I think.

Congrats, looks ready for some dirt...

Thanks man! I've been checking out your FJC. It's awesome!
This rig is my wife's daily driver though and won't be seeing much more than MAYBE a dirt road or two. I've got a couple rigs that make more sense for me to wheel so I'll leave her rig alone.

Looks good so far. As for the back up cammera, we had a customer that wanted his cammera relocated so he could run a tire cover. It was way more work than necessary. If it was mine, I would try to figure out a way to modify the center cap to allow the cammera to work vs. relocating it.

Thanks! Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Cut a hole in the cap and see how much visibillity I get.

All parts are in and the install begins Thursday. Here are part numbers in case anyone wants to order any of these parts. And if anyone is looking for any of these parts in silver, I know where you can get them CHEAP! :D

53901-35220- lower front bumper piece

This will remove all silver or grey or whatever it is from the vehicle. I know it's money that could have been spent on something that actually improves performance, but hey, it's what she wants and considering the amount of money I've put into my wheeling rigs, hauler, trailers, etc in the past couple years, I just need to keep my mouth shut and do what she wants.

Got it all done except for the door handles. Should be getting them finished up this week. And still haven't messed around with the center cap for the back wheel/. Here are a few pictures:

I like it a lot better all blacked out. And this plastic is black all the way through so I don't have to worry about it chipping and showing through silver down the road like I would have if I painted it.

Thinking about using a set of the mirrors on a fj55, What would you take for the pair?

Thinking about using a set of the mirrors on a fj55, What would you take for the pair?

A buddy of mine is about to list all the stuff on craigslist. He's pricing the mirrors at $75 each. I think that's less than half price. If you're interested, I'll have him drop you a message on here.

I've always thought those Rockstars looked the most like the TRD wheels..minus the center cap.

Would you mind taking off the center caps on one side and posting a pic? Or is that a PITA?

Did you need to use spacers for those...or did they fit like OEM?

Thanks!

Do you still have any of the silver pieces? I am interested in the driver side rear. I sent you a pm a little while back and never heard back. Let me know

Thanks
Dave

Looks great Bricktop! I have a couple of questions:

Did you consider getting aftermarket parts instead of Toyota parts? I priced the aftermarket out at a little over $1,100. Also, what about the rear valance? Was that not an issue due to the tow hitch?

Thanks in advance,
Bonehead
