Hi guys,
Thinking of designing a home made reduction box using a planetary gearset from a automatic gearbox. would have to design and build the adapters.

the gears would be almost free from a shot auto box!

since the input and the output would be in the same line it would be simlper to fit between the gearbox output and the transfer input.

has anyone tried this approach??

any pitfalls u guys can see??

yeah buying a crawlerbox or Klune would be much simpler but dont have the $$$$ !

Sounds like a good idea. If its strong, and cheeper than the alternatives, i think you should make them!

Back when the dollar was more in your favour, the Black Box from Northwestfab.ca was a great alternative.
