I want to make some rock protection for both differentials. Can anyone post pics or give me some guidance on what to do or not to do?

There's plenty of info & pics in the archives using the everso "SEARCH" feature. From 10" pipe cap to small tubing to plating styles are used. I made a template w/ cardboard, traced it on 1/4" plate & cut it out w/ my plasma. Then, I used my press & 3 lb. sledge to form the curves:

"SEARCH" feature.

No hablo englis (I'll try that) ;)

Just thought of this, what precautions should I take welding on the pumpkin?

Besides draining the diff, I can't think of anything that would cause the FRONT cover any harm. But, I haven't seen your design or know your fab skillz :hhmm:

That is kind of what I thought. I will somehow incorparate some protection for the drain plug. I knocked it lose during our week long run last week.

The factory drain plug rings were all smashed on the fronts of both my rigs so I just used slices of 2" X 1/4" wall DOM & built up around it w/ hefty weld beads.
On the rear cover, first cut out a half ring to reinforce the base so it doesn't peel up. Then build your cover up from there:

Thanks Hamma! Input much appreciated!!
