I live in Milwaukee and just bought my first Cruiser.
After building and wheeling Jeeps for 10 years or so, I decided to 'retire' with a southern 1995 LC.
I have no idea if it is an FJ or an FZJ or what differentiates them, but what I do know is that its on a flatbed on the way here from B'ham right now.
Wheeling in the Midwest, I got to know Woody, and thereby this site.
I look forward to hitting the trails in my Land Winnebago, and hope to meet some of you soon.
Here's to learning how to wrench in Japanese and trying to find parking spaces that can accomodate my newfound girth.
Hasta.

:flipoff2: Welcome! Does your 80 have the differential lockers front center and rear? Congrats on the purchase! I am a Jeep to cruiser convert also. I have a 62 and would like to move up to an 80. It would be more likely for me to just add one to the fleet though. The 62 has to much life left to dump it.

Welcome aboard. The 80 is a nice ride and wheels really well.

Welcome to the newest way to spend your savings................ :flipoff2:

Sounds like ya got a nice platform to work with :grinpimp:

Congrats, and welcome aboard

Japanese Wrenching begins soon.
I think the proper way to introduce myself to this rig is to do the front axle service on my own, as I don't know the last time it was done.
I learned to set Dana R&P the same way, with the instructions and some pictures of proper patterns that I printed from the internet.
Knowing your rig is a good thing.
Preparation...
I went to the local NAPA and asked for a gallon or two of Birfield eliminator, but they were out.
Looking around at the front axle, I cannot seem to find PIN 1, let alone PIN 7.
Also need to get to the DMV for my CDL as all I have is an operators license.
Do I need a hazmat certification as well?
This truck is complicated.
:D
All kidding aside, if anyone is near Milwaukee and would not mind going over this new rig with me, I would pop for food and beverages.
Thanks and email me at yahoo.
Cheers.

I'm not to far from Milwaukee. I could go over it with you. I have to do my 62's front end damn soon. I'm fairly sure it has never been done.

You have mail
