Today, Christmas Day. We made some good progress. The rear floor was installed, patches welded in the new quarters to fill in the extra gas door, and one vent. Some of the inner bracing that attaches behind the rear pillars needed work because we could only order one side. We did a test fit of the passenger side quarter also, and it fit nicely. One picture here shows another example of the Frankenstein patch work this vehicle had.

Didn’t find anything interesting, unfortunately. I love finding a time-capsule of nonsense from the 80’s in the bottom of a quarter or under carpet. There was a lot of dirt from inside the rockers. Hopefully we don’t get some different strain of South American Valley Fever from it!

We found lots of lighters from the Coober Pedy pubs in mine, some of which I'd been to: Opal Inn, Croatian Club, and the Greek Club. Along with a crushed can of VB...

Amazing progress today. Prepped the rear pillars and support panels that attach to them. It was quite a lot of tedious, and somewhat confusing work. Finding all the attachment locations, sanding the black coating off and spraying zinc primer before welding. Locating all the sections to punch holes for welding. Now it's back on the rotisserie and off the jack stands!

I bought a good spot welder for doing jobs like this. That’s a lot of plug welds without it!

I want to get one, and it would have been nice on this project. Maybe someday. Currently, I need a new welder. Mine is about to die I think.

Looks like we are good to go on this drivers side. Needs a little adjusting but its clamped on almost perfect. I stayed until 8 tonight and prepped all the attachment locations. Tomorrow should be a big day.

Took some wigglin and jigglin but it’s lined up all through the windows, pillar, top, bottom front and fender wells. Clamped and ready to tack on.
