HJ75 (1987) Windscreen Surround Rooted

Greets from The Murray:

Just picked up an '87 HJ75 and am in the process of tearing her down to clean up the bush-rot that is typical of the model (floor pans, windscreen surround, under the battery tray) and the windscreen surround is beyond reasonable repair.

- Checked with Toyota and the OEM piece is discontinued.
- There may be a few repairable pieces with the wreckers around the country - but we have not found one yet & we've been lookin'.

- She has a factory snorkel so would like to find one with the set-in nuts for the top mount.​

- There are aftermarket steel pieces from Taiwan.
- FRP makes fibreglass surrounds and Mick's gear has a good reputation.

I would prefer an OEM piece, but barring that does anyone have any comments on/experience with these aftermarket pieces?
Or any other suggestions?

I dont believe it is discontinued because some markets in north africa are still getting the fold down windscreen
I think its more a case of the local dealers not being able to compete with those who order their parts direct from Japan,so they tell you its discontinued.

Rosco - Called the parts gal at Port Hedland Toyota (really cool Kiwi chick) and she spent time going through the options with me.. all the while knowing that I would stay east when it came to shipping dollars.
