Hi guys, I have completed swapping out a HJ60 H55 into my HJ75.

I have found a problem with the driveshafts, in that the HJ75 shafts will bolt up at the diff end, however the flange at the gearbox is wrong.

If I swap the shorter end from the HJ60 it will all fit, however the spline in the slipjoint is a bit shorter... I want to know will this be a problem?

(So essentially I have half a Hj60 and Hj75 driveshaft to make one).

My next idea is to swap the flanges on the gearbox with my old H55, however I haven't confirmed whether they are interchangeable.

Hi All:

Hulsty is correct, this is the best way to "fix" this issue.

You can just swap the short end of the prop (drive) shaft, but a lot depends upon how much movement your HJ75 has in it's suspension.

If the amount of suspension movement is more than what the HJ60 has that drive shaft combo may be too short for severe off-road use.

Regards,

Alan

I ended up swapping the rear flange guys. I couldn't get the front one off, as it is 'keyed' (with a punch essentially). But I will get in there and do it at a later date, when I get myself a longer punch to open it all up a bit.

You will need a rattle gun for this job, for those reading! (You could get away with a breaker bar, but good luck).
