To go from 3000' ASL to 11K' ASL, is the process the same for tuning my carbed 22R? I.E. turn the mix screw in until it starts to bog down and then back off 1/2 turn or what would you recommend??

Also, what about with EFI? Would high elevation affect anything or would it adjust itself? Thanks in advance.

EFI will do great for elevation changes.. I live at 6K and go wheeling all the way up to 12k all the time, My carb Sucked at the changes, now i dont even think about it..

HMmmmmmmmmm, I smell the St. Elmo area......

Still no input on the carbed 22R?????

Well, IIRC The CA smog package on my 81 had a self adjusting elevation feature built in, but I don't know how it worked. I think it was called the HAC(high altitude control) valve and I may be mistaken, but I think it is on the pass. side of the engine, mounted on the inner fender. Brown or black in color, with at least 4 vaccuum ports. If you don't have this, ie desmogged, then I really don't know. Your method sounds good, and worst case scenario you might have to get out in the snow and fiddle with it for a few.....
