Also- what size tires are those ...38 TSLs ?

Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback. I sure appreciate it and hope my posts give fellow 80's addicts ideas to build on.

With the exception of the equipment (I now have about anything I need to get the job done) ANYONE that puts their mind to a project can make something like this. Fabbin is a passion to me that is what I chose it as a profession. I'm 32 now and when I was 16 I bought a miller 90 welder and taught myself. I look back to that era at what I made on my 1st 74 FJ40 and I chuckle a bit, but am proud of each and every piece. I did my best an improved each project.

So with that aside I really cant wait to get this rig back out on the trail and have some fun with it. Big tasks like I am doing can be discouraging b/c they are so difficult to see the end.

Regards

Kirk

Well said Kirk.

I've indeed learned a lot about a lot from wrenchin' with you....

Kirk still makes fun of me when I make stupid mistakes though...

Onur, I think you are the exception, sometimes. I am always laughing with ya not at ya.

Looks AWESOME. How are you planning to upgrade your axles? Chromo internals or 60's or nothing or what?

Well I am still in investigative mode on this issue. Have a set of 5.29's for this summer. Hopefully I can swap those in and have some fun while sizing up the best path to take. I cant wait to see georges (tiredirongrb) portals at the april fools event. I have some ideas now about hummer/9 inch or 9inch/toyota or 9inch portaltek etc.

I would do the portals using the same technique George used. High dollar, but man are they nice. I have wheeled with him. He has a 2.5" lift, stock arms, and runs the same size tire (he runs Iroks).

schwing!

that's sick!
I want one....

Luckeeeee.
