Heater Problems

Have a 97 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 extended cab 4 cylinder that the heater is not blowing hot air. The engine heats up properly just won't blow any hot air. Any suggestions?

1. Check your heater lines for blockages
2. check the heater valve, sometimes the valve gets dislocated from the plunger, and jams in the body.
3. open up the heater box, and make sure rodents haven't nested on the core, or dust and hair haven't plugged up the louvers.

Good luck.

Heater Problems

I flushed the radiator yesterday and it did not help at all.

What is the condition of the coolant? All the way full?

If none of these help, then here's a solution:

Agreed. Find the valve in your engine bay - should be somewhere along the firewall with heater hose running into it. See if the valve is functioning, and if you can locate any heater hose on the inside of the cab check and see if it's hot (when the engine is hot). If yes, then the valve is working and you have an issue with a blockage. If no, then the valve isn't working.
