help with dog names

We just got a new dog and really struggled with the name. In the end we went to a website of dog names and just started going through them. He had a fine dog name when we got him, it just didn't fit. The name he has now I'm not too excited about, but it really does fit him.

So get the dog, spend some time with it. Then get a name.

I once knew a dog named Dog. That was a great name.

I also try to name dogs something a future boss's kids name is not likely to be. When we had Max, the new neighbor's kid's name was Max. That was embarrassing. When we got our first lab his name was Paco. The wife's boss's kids name was Frankie as well. That would have just not been a good conversation.

"Nice dog. What's his name?"

"That's neat. What's that mean?"
"Frankie, because he's a son of a bitch too"

It takes spending a little time with an animal to find out what its name is, so take your time getting to know him and what kind of guy he is and the name will come to you.

Nice lookin dog nater. I like the name but wont be hunting him at all so dont know about gunner. Thinking about Ari, Cole, maybe Boulder.

I had a chocolate lab named "Mousse" as a kid. Like Chocolate Mousse. not mouse.

I am a little partial to food names I guess as I named my Old English Bulldogge Roux.

I have always had pets with people names......unfortunately my niece's name is Maggie, and now I am a step-owner of a dog named Maggie. This makes it hard when you're yelling at the dog for something.....

The employees at work are so creative, we have 2 dogs, a male and a female..
Choocho and choocha, IIRC, translates to "dog", lol.
It works, and fits them well.

What's your favorite beer? A friend's lab is named Porter. My lab is named Guinness.

I thought about the name bell after the bell's brewery but after deciding i wanted a guy dog i decided not to go that route and am not really fond enough of any other's that i've thought of so far, guiness is a good one though...

I'll probably end up taking the advice of a few here and wait till i get the dog, just brainstorming ideas right now.
