Yesterday, while in a state of euphoric excitement :grinpimp:, I posted that I had finally gotten my new sliders. Well, both Dave & Mo pointed out that my thread was "useless" without pictures. They're both right of course, but I just can't deliver! :o I'm still stuck in SLO with no camera and a "sketchy" internet connection. I'm actually being held hostage! My wife refuses to leave until we've visited EVERY "cute little shop" in SLO (I lost count yesterday around 196, or so - but hey today's a new day...); and Danny won't leave until we rent some ATV's at Pismo (actually, that's our little "gentleman's agreement", but Robin doesn't need to know that ;)).

So, to the point (finally!), since it's clearly not fair to expect you all to imagine what my rig looks like now, here's my request:

Would all of my brothers with JAFW80's and Hanna sliders please post pics for me?

No Slee, MT, or any other brands; and white 80's only, please. I don't want it to get too confusing.

For the first one of you that comes through with an identical rig to mine (white, factory flares, 33's, unlifted, Kaymar rear bumper w/tire holder, IPOR skidplate, etc..., AND Hanna sliders) --I'll buy you a beer at the next Meet & Greet!

Thanks in advance, guys. I know I can count on you!

Speaking of beer...Make sure to stop by SLO Brewing...Good stuff there!

Is this close? no sliders on it yet, but....

:D

also, it isn't white or even an 80, but it's close right?:D

LMFAO Shane!

I see my next mod being a turret mounted machine gun. Might be necessary for future Baja excursions.

to hell with SLO Brewing...have you been to Mo's BBQ??? That is some great stuff

This is as close as I can come - at Ken's shop with the install. Didn't have the Durabak'ed flares yet, has 285's, has Kaymar rear bumper and no lift at that point either IIRC. Has Slee T-case protection. ...and it's WHITE!!! :D

Well, Shane, it figures a response like this would come from a Valley guy! (I just moved to down here from Northridge 3 years ago, so I should know :grinpimp:) And no, it's not even close, but anybody that desperate for a beer deserves one! I'll have a cold, frosty one for you at either the next M&G or Surf & Turf, whichever comes first.

Well, Brent, you're obviously closest so far. That's not saying much though, considering your competition... I'll consider a cold, frosty one for you, too, especially since the lack of visibility of the Slee skidplate doesn't hamper one's ability to imagine that your 80 (at least at that stage of the build) is identical to mine!

If not SLO Brew, then how about Bull's Tavern in Downtown SLO? Good stuff there! Ya, the BBQ in SLO is amazing. I can almost smell the tri-tip from here.

:D

I did look through my "liberated" file from various places for a white one with Hanna sliders, but my 80 stuff is pretty weak at the moment.

I'll maybe see ya at S&T or M&G.

We made it home and I can finally post the long-awaited pictures of my even more long-awaited sliders. Thanks for your patience.

Brent (and Shane, too, I guess...), thanks for offering your rigs as stand-ins for mine. The discerning "Landcruiser eye" will notice some subtle (in Brent's case) and not so subtle (in Shane's case) differences between the rigs.

No installer in this one.

My Kaymar has the tire swingout on the driver's side, there's no white lettering on my L RR window, and I have a red "SoCal 80"s" sticker where Brent's blue sticker is located.

The truly discerning among you may notice other subtle differences, but I don't want to give anything away...

Kudos to my son Eric for doing this for me. You are the best.

BFG AT's on chrome rims. Sunroof deflector, rear deflector. . . .

Looking good!

Tell them you know me and they will give you a free beer with your BBQ. :grinpimp: I will wear my hat to the M&G.

Joe I think Brent pretty much nailed it since the IPOR skid wouldn't be visible anyway.

I need an 80...

In addition to what Boyd's mentioned - blinged chrome rims, Kaymar tire carrier is on the wrong side, not enought stickers on the windows. hehehe

Looks good - now go scratch them!!

! :o I'm still stuck in SLO [/quote said:
There are worse places to be stuck than in SLO...Hope the brews at SLO brewing company more than made up for being stuck in SLO... :)

Wow, Boyd. You have a very discerning eye!

Yeah, I concur -- especially since there are about 50 JAFW 80's with Hanna's and he's the only one who would play along! :crybaby:

Okay, okay, you already earned your !

After banging up the rockers on my pristine, one-owner 62, I vowed not to hit the trails without proper protection. I'm ready!!! Though, I do want to add a lift and a few other performance enhancements...

SLO was great! Got my sliders, had some great food, fun time w/my family, a little time on the dunes with both the 80 and some rental ATV's... A successful trip by any standards!

He also had the Kaymar, no lift, 285s, and flares. That is a pretty good match. ;)
