Help Needed, What is that Trickling/ticking Noise?

Hi there,
I was wheelin yesterday and just playin around with my new FJC, just want try out the 4x4 features .
The area was mostly just loose sand with a little bit of incline. I was on 2 wheel drive, stepped on the gas,
wanted to make doughnuts :) but everytime the rear tires slip, there's a trickling sound from the inside or ticking sound
[tick..tick..tick..tick..] , it seems like its coming from the inside of the cabin or from the engine. I stopped , placed it in 4H and it was ok, but when I floored it again, even in 4H, the trickling sound comes on again. Is this normal? Is it just the ATRAC doing its thing? It only happens when I try to spin the tires [ by flooring it ] Thanks in Advance guys :)

sounds like it's the traction system preventing you from spinning the tires...

Have you ever attended an event with the Trail Teams? The West Coast Team does a variety of events thru-out that coast, and even hitting them up for a few hours during a MtBike or other event might net you an absolute TON of knowledge on how your rig works.

Also, scroll down the page to the Clubhouse, and find a Club in your area....a day/weekend on the trails with them will also teach you tons about how your TRAC, ATRAC, VSC, and other systems on your FJ Cruiser operate, and when to use them.

I'd send ya by me, but I'm in Ohio now and headed to Tellico NC this weekend....feel free to drive out tho ;)
