I'm looking for tire recommendations for an FJ80 that's going on the beach every day. Right down by the shoreline to surf fish. I don't know if I'll ever offroad in dirt and mud, I'd like to but there's not many places to do that around here. So lets focus on the best sand tire, and it's very soft, fine sand BTW
The truck will have a 2.5" lift by that time. Thanks.

I've been looking at the Firestone Destination A/T's so far.

Hi All:

I'd say any decent AT tire will work fine, but plan on airing these tires from the 30 PSI street pressure to about 15 PSI while on the beach.

So, having a air compressor, or other method to air-up the tires once back on pavement would be a good idea.

For air compressors, look for one that connects directly to the vehicle's electrical system (not the cig lighter) and has a high CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) rating. Or, if a welding supply shop is easy to access, consider a "power tank" type set-up which uses CO2 to re-fill tires.

Good luck!

Mickey Thompson Bajas are supposedly a nice, wide sand tire.

As to a compressor Google, or search here on Mud, on the MV-50 and MF-1050.
