2004 Lexus Lx470, 380,000 KM/236,000 Miles
For about three weeks now, my LX makes this noise on start ups only after sitting over night or for long periods of time. At first it was going on for 30 seconds to 50 seconds. Last few days its went on for 4 mins. Noise only happens when its cold, we had -55 in North Dakota a week ago and it was acting up a lot. When I park in a heated garage, the noise goes on for 30 seconds. When I park on the driveway in winter elements, the next day the noise is approx 3-4 mins with a eventual check engine light, parking brake light and very loud annoying constant beep. The check engine light, parking brake light and very loud annoying constant beep go away after 30 seconds or so, after that I start driving and check the brakes constantly.
The LX drives and brakes perfectly fine, I am worried something is about to give out. I would like to get ahead of it for obvious safety concerns. Did some research and possibly could be the brake master cylinder. While the noise was happening I put my ear close to the cylinder and heard a very minor suckling sound coming from it, no vibrations or other red flags. If I need to replace it, I will but wanted to rule out other cheaper options before I spend a grand or two fixing this.
I had this happen once before during a winter storm in Minnesota, again it was -40ish. Once the check engine light and constant beep went away on its own, I drove back to ND and this was about 2-3 years ago so I did not think much of it but lately its been happening a lot.
Please take a listen and let me know your thoughts.
