I finally got my 80series roadworthy again, it's pretty sweet. However, something I did (I'm guessing either in the rewiring of the new stereo or the bypassing of the old amp) has made the factory car alarm go crazy.

To be honest, I didn't even know that I had an alarm on the car because it never went off before. But, in the last week, it has gone off totally randomly like 6 times. I can't even identify what makes it go off, but yesterday just my friend starting his car 10 feet away made it start blaring.

So, does anyone know how to disable it or have a link to a wiring diagram that would help me figure it out? I don't really care about fixing it, I just want to disable it (unless fixing it is easier).

Thanks for any help.

There is a little switch on the kick panel on the drivers side interior.
A low battery will make the darn things crazy and they re-set when the battery is disconnected.
There is a little red light that comes on the dash to your left
when the alarm is off.

Same exact problem (93 FJ80). Did you ever figure out how to simply disable the alarm?

Thanks!
