Question for my kid...he has a Gen 3 Tacoma and was trying to install his new BAMF sliders. While trying to get the various bolts loosened, I managed to shear the head of the bolt that goes thru the bottom of the frame holding the carrier bearing crossmember. Since there are 4 rivets holding the crossmember to the side of the frame and the other side is still fully attached, is it safe to drive from Redding, CA back to Reno (approx 220 miles)? He's a student at UNR and was only here visiting for the weekend (you know...mooching meals and getting Dad to help with working on his truck).

Help and advice appreciated.

I'd drive it. have someone TIG the hole at a later date.
Kid got impatient and drove it back to Reno...got a shop to remove it for him.
