how is this suspension, i just need something from the flat springs i have now, i feel like i am driveing a covered wagon, thanks jason

I went OME, cost a little more, but it comes with everything. If you ever come up to the upstate, let me know. Your welcome to drive my 62 with ome to see if you like it.

I have the HellCreek lift on my 40 and am impressed (especially for the price).

I have the prototype Hellcreek on my '89 62. They are great and provided about 1.75" lift over stock. They have been on for about a year and have been trouble free. They are, of course, stiffer than my stock (flat) springs. I would recommend putting on the springs and then measuring for some top of the line shocks like Bilstein. I have been keeping a journal on them for Hellcreek as well as feedback. I would highly recommend them. (I have no financial interest in Hellcreek) Here are some pics: (1) Marshall. master mechanic, orchestrates the installation during a HAMOM 12-15-07; (2) vanity shot in Cullowhee in February 08; (3) more recent shot.

they have a 2.5" suspension kit with for $650.00 plus the ride. it seems great price considering the flat springs i have now. your 62 looks very good with the suspension on.

Jason,

I to am interested in this lift, however on their website I see the 2.5" lift for $825. I just want to make sure I am not missing something.

Thanks,
Chris

Call Tom at Hell Creek and let him know you saw it on Mud. Great guy and I'm sure he'll hook you up.

x2. Cool person to deal with. I had my lift on my doorsteps within 2 days.

Chris,

X3 on talking directly with Tom. Tell him I sent you and that you saw it at Upstate Cruisers.

Thanks David, I called and left a message. I will keep all updated.
On a side note - did you use Hellcreeks shackles, bushings, U-bolts, etc... or just the springs? If just the springs what other equipment did you use?

Thanks,
Chris

I think Tom may now have a package on that. I know I made measurements for him of the extended swaybar links that I added. Since I was testing the prototype, I purchased sway bar links, shackles, extended U-Bolts, and pins from SOR (all greasable). I remember I also bought my bushings from SOR and you will want to make sure you buy enough, as I had miscalculated. I think I spent around $300 on all that.

If Tom has a package on that stuff, I think I would go with Tom as it is their entire line of business.

On shocks, I think I would put in the Bilsteins in retrospect.

David,

I spoke to Tim a while back, very nice guy. Is the prototype still holding up well? I really want to take the plunge on these, however in a couple years time I don't want to wish that I put the funds towards the OME kit. Do you think that all the kinks are worked out on this kit?

Tim is offering this kit below. What else is needed, shackles and pins?

This kit includes:

Front and Rear Hell Creek Suspensions Leaf Springs
Poly Spring Bushings
Heckethorn Nitro Shocks
Black Shock Boots
Front and Rear U-Bolts with U-Bolt Nuts and Washers

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Chris

I'm really happy with Hell Creek. It's been a year now and I am very happy. It's broken in well and is softening up a little bit, which is just what I was looking for.

While I am sure OME is the Cadillac of suspension, I'm more of a chevy guy (this is a metaphor as I am really a Toyota guy). Really like Tom's price point. I have no regrets and wouldn't hesitate to go with Hell Creek!
