I expected something more refined.
Was it not as advertised? I bought one but haven't received it yet. Does it communicate with bluetooth devices? Turn on/off? Volume up/down? That's all it was advertised to do.

Knob was fairly crude and not threaded. Bluetooth device works fine. It is the exact model I linked with a screen printed job on top of it. I had hoped it was something clean and original . No sadly. It’s a Chinese made $15 unit with a crude ish knob provided. Communication on the order was poor and felt like I was having someone do me a favor then purchasing something for 7 times it’s value. Hard pass. Redline sells some nice CNC’d knobs that are blank for $34. I could have went with one of those and the $15 Amazon unit and built 3 of those for what I paid. Buyers remorse is an understatement.

Ok, what the heck is this? Runs from around the master cylinder through the frame rail to the driver’s tail light.

Looks like something PO added. That isn't a stock wire, all wiring for the rear should run down passenger side of frame to the rear.
🙏

Very strange. It has an aftermarket pto on it as well. Just cut the old wires out of it for that.

Possibly. Although the stock wiring is there, albeit rather ragged on the light end.

Is that wire (orange thing) or a metal rod? If wire that’s a heavy one 😆. The covered part looks like rubber hose with cover? Did the rig ever have a rear fuel tank?

I think it’s a wire… As far as I know it did not have an extra tank. Only aftermarket part was the PTO winch.

Alright, what the hell is going on here? I’ve been under the impression this truck is a factory spring green color. What do y’all think? Am I being too rough with the acetone/lacquer thinner and scotch bright?

I thought the red was primer. What’s the grey?

If I understand the original early factory builds the red was the primer on the part as it came out of its build shop, then after assembly the rig was painted with the grey build primer (and probably wet sanded) then the top coat color was applied. At least that’s what I could make out of an old factory video that’s been posted on mud. Can‘t remember where I saw that, I’ll hunt for it.

Interesting… So it should be crappy white paint, factory spring green, grey primer, red primer.

Any tips on just taking off the crappy white paint and nothing else? Less pressure, different scrubbing media, different solvent?

Been doing a little blitzing on the 40 while on the break. Reinstalled the water pump and radiator. Need to replace hose clamps still. Replaced the alternator, horn relay (horn still doesn’t work) and the terminal blocks. I think the factory ones were done… So much better!

I almost forgot! The wife surprised me with some CruiserCorps front seat covers for Christmas! I think she has finally accepted the 40 into the family. What do y’all think?

Nice man - those seats are going to look great!
I agree! Love the color. Any local upholsterer recommendations? Just need the foam really. Although it would be nice to have someone do upholster the seats for me.
