Heating guy here?

Real basic IMO: sort of a "here's what I'm doing, what do you think"....

1100sqft, Upper Michigan cold climate. New Insulation & windows / siding will be in (long & short = efficient ).

I have to replace the furnace and am wanting to go upflow and mount horizontal in our 3 block crawl-space that is actually a bit deeper than 3 block. Going to go with something around 60K BTU net for our place being 1100 sqft. That's my biggest question (meeting the HVAC guy Monday). Is that enough BTU for 1100 sqft in a cold climate?

We're going to be very well insulated, etc.

Crawl-space should be fine; we had it in one of our other houses done horizontally and it worked well with no issues. I may change the crawl-space access to internal-trap door instead of outside though.

Anyway; I'm brainstorming....thought maybe someone here could kick up some thoughts / recs / recent experiences...

TIA-
