Have a couple wiring questions.
Was playing with my windshield washers a bit, trying to igure out why hey have barely any pressure.
I have a new pump, but there is some strange wiring going on at the pump

Blue wire taping into the pump harness

goes across to the drivers side, to a relay

the rest of the wiring comes off the relay (one goes to ground onto the body) and goes into the fuse box

Is there supposed to be a relay in this spot (in the fuse panel?)

Your insight is greatly appreciated

is that a US model car, with aftermarket daytime running lights installed?

Just a guess, but could be the PO put in an aftermarket headlight relay, pulling power or control power from the factory relay location and tapped the ground at the windshield washer...

poorly typd on my iPhone using IH8MUD

^^ this.

I'd re-wire the DRLs, or remove them.

Remember that removal of DRLs is illegal in Canada for vehicles made after 1990.

I'd just like to get it back to stock. Install the slee relay harness I have.. then maybe put the DRL's back in .

I really dont need the DRL's anyway, because I have a habit of just turning my lights on anyways :/

same here. I just leave my lights on, they automatically turn off when I open the door. I've removed hack jobs like this before, on many cars.

As long as you know it's not legal to remove, that it can result in a vehicle inspection order...

remove the scotch-lock and repair the wire. Those tapping connections on the washer pump can damage the wires, cutting them, allowing corrosion, etc. You may need to replace that section of wire for your washer pump to have adequate current for a stronger spray.

Yeah, im not really too worried about it being illegal. They don't hand out V.I.'s here as much as they do in the lowermainland.

I really dislike scotch locks in general... perfect for letting in moisture.

So does anyone know what relay I need to put in place of the spade connectors? If anything ?

I had a chance a few days ago to unplug the wires going into the fuse box.

I have no headlights at all when I do this.

Any ideas what else could be up ?
