Gentlemen,

Hope everyone and their families are doing well…

I’ve ordered headers for my 40 and they should be here any day, any advice before I start taking crap apart (besides needing bigger washers, using 2 OEM gaskets), what kind of gasket maker/sealant?...

Tony, did you solve your vaccume (or whatever the hell was the problem) problems?

Also got a used differential to replace whatever is left of the metal in my old one!

Hoping to make it to Grey Rock!

Tony ain't solved it but I'm going to fix it!

Hope you have better luck than we did....DAM IT!

Tony is in Yankeeland. I will not be making the run to Gray Rock. Sometimes there are sacrifices to make when saving the world. You guys don't need to get in any hurry working on mine. That will be a good reason to get together and drink a beer or 10.

I've had several headers on my 40 and found it works best (JMO) to have the header flange machined under bolt heads to match the intake thickness use one gasket and most think I'm crazy but use high temp silicon on the gasket. The present set up has been together for several years, I think the last valve job was about 6 years ago.

U need the hi temp RTV seal it is red. It will solve all your problems. Put it on both sides of the gasket SPAREINGLY just enough to seal. Good Luck

Daniel

Thank's for all the advice

decided to delay this project for now, until after grey rock, don't wanna start something that could potentially go wrong when I dont' really need to (not too bad of a leak!)
