Well, my daily driver Mr2 blew the head gasket last week. Im gonna try and tackle this myself, will be my first more than 2 banana fix but think i can. Already got both sides of intake/exhaust off and pretty much ready to get the head off.

My plan was to keep it stock for a while until the motor went or i had more cash then do an engine swap but no forced to fix this. I'd like to swap a smallport 4age head if i can find one SOON but if not Im gonna just use the stock head/cams/ etc. The intake and tvis spacer are loaded with carbon buildup so id like to get them hot tanked.

Where do i go for a simple hot tank on the intake stuff and to check the head for straight edge. I've been told if it is straight i dont even need a resurface.

Invitation to anyone that wants to come over this weekend and help/ensure i pull/replace the head correctly. Just dont wanna F anything up.

Ill buy beer of your choice and some food. ;)

SO...

Decided not to wait on a different head and took mine to millers today for resurface. SIde note: they are a great place to get your stuff did. great service, 2 hour turn around, honest, upfront...willl diff use again. Also saw tons of heads there from gunn honda so guess they must do good work.

Its going on this weekend.
