I got a 1988 BJ73 24v. The other day I went to use my turn signal and a spark and smoke emanated from behind the steering. After this both my hazards and turn signals stopped working. Fuses were fine.
I opened everything up and noticed two problems initially. One of the wires to the turn signal switch broke off, so I soldered it back on, which didn’t fix the issue. And then a circuit board off the hazard switch was broken, closer inspection shows some blackness in there too, most likely the spark and smoke I saw. Would this broken circuit cause both hazards and turn signals to not work? I am inclined to order both of these switches and replace as necessary.
