Alrighty...

I was wondering the difference between a hawse non-roller fairlead and an Al non-roller fairlead. I know the Hawse fairlead can be used with cable but I was wondering what it was made out of? Steel or AL?

Thanks...

I think hawse is the common name for any non roller fairlead. The version that used to come with Warn winches were all cast steel.

Thats what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info.

I have AL one already and was wanting to use it on a new winch thats coming my way instead of the roller fairlead that comes with it. But will end up using the roller fairlead becuase the cast one would rust way to quick where I live.
and I assume that the AL one I have would be too soft for cable line.

The aluminum hause is for winch rope only. Wire cable would tear aluminum to pieces.

Yulp, thats why I asked what the hawse fairlead was made out of.

I always ran the AL with Amsteel blue.

i use viking delrin rollers for viking trail line blue.
