:crybaby:Ok I hate to admit it, but I was adjusting my valves and turning the crank pulley with a really big crescent wrench, buttoned everything up and turned it over and- yep you guessed it-I LEFT THE FLIPPIN WRENCH ON THE NUT!!! :wrench::bang:Thank GOD nobody was injured. The nut spun off and it and the wrench fell to the ground.:censor:
Question 1: What size nut is it? Ineed to buy a closed end wrench.

Question 2: How do you hold the crank so that you can tighten the nut.

Question 3: what is the torque rating?

LOL
Been there - done that.
I just zipped it up with a 3/4"rattle gun. A 1HZ Diesel is 30mm or 1 3/16".

It is a 30mm socket. The torque spec is 305 ftlbs.
I have started using a trick that some one posted a while back. It is using a 1/2 extension about 6" to wedge the drive plate of the torque convertor and the oil pan. At the back of the engine under neath and behind the oil pan. Is a black plastic acess piece to unbolt the Torque convertor from the engine. You can put one end of the extension through the drive plates holes with the female end. the male end wedges against the oil pan at the bottom when a bolt is(on the inside).
If this discription is not good for you, look for the old thread in the archives.

you're not alone. luckily for me, i did it on my mitsubishi mirage when adjusting point gap. i just squeezed the fanbelt tighter while tightening the nut. tight enough but not to spec.
