My wife and I are looking at a number of vehicles. The 200 is at the top of my list but my wife is hung up on the access to the third row for friends etc... Has anyone here converted the 2nd row to proper captain chairs to allow easy access to the 3rd row. We still have anchored car seats, so the folding 2nd row makes life difficult. Please save me from a minivan or Honda Pilot or even worse (her choice) an Escalade. Thanks!

check out the sequoia

From my experience, you'll come to appreciate the ability to accommodate a friend in the middle as they age. My wife's Tahoe has captains and we loved it when the kids were little. At 7 and 11, there's a friend in there more times than not, and not having to drop the third row is handy. 2 Grand Cherokees, a Tahoe, and the 200 is the best we've found yet for the family.

We had a Sequoia with that kind of second row. Two captains chairs with a center console.

I am aware that the Sequoia has the captain chairs. I was looking for someone that has found something that works in the LC. Seems like no one here has made this modification. Does the center piece of the second row move independent of the 2 outboard seats? Is it a 60/40 split or 40/20/40

The center is connected to the driver's side seat (in the second row). You can fold down the middle seat-back) to serve as an armrest (there's a cupholder there). For an agile kid, this CAN be used for acces to the third row - if you don't mind them climbing on your armrest.

You can also have just one rear seat in use and acces it from the rear end.

For my 100, I've been trying to source just the 2nd row "40" side seat (40/60 split) from a RHD 100. This would give the pass through. Likely, the floor would need modification as well.

during times where i need to access the 3rd row a lot, i have just pulled the middle seat on the passenger side. you can still fit two people in the middle seat and have very easy access to the third row (seats 7 instead of 8). kids love the versatility, plus its great for long trips as the front passenger seat will recline until its almost flat.

Did you ever follow through with this?

I was never able to locate the seat by itself. Modifying an original seat might have a better outcome.

That would be the perfect 200 in my opinion, captain 2nd row and full access to the 3rd. I think whit a smart welder you could try something but one of a kind definitely
