Hi,
I'm just looking around for info if anyone has explored the Flathead River area of BC. (so I'm posting this all over the place)
It's located in the South East corner of BC.
Any idea of trail accessibilty? types of trails, terrain? how many days of exploring by truck would there be there?
Thanks!

Have not been there. But I have been thinking about heading that way during Elk season this fall.

Lots of Grizzly bears in that valley, be a cautious camper.

This is why I was thinking about it but have been having issues finding valuable information on 4X4 access. Would suck to drive for a 1 1/2 days and find locked gates or only 1 day of wheeling and exploring.

There were two mining exploration companies working in the valley that have been since 'booted' since it was designated a park. Probably best to try and find some local knowledge maybe through the snowmobiling associations, ATVer's etc. or though the Parks Ministry.

There are some rec sites in the area with FSR access. But with the recent changes and snow, we may not see any real closures (i.e. gates) until summer time.

Hi Mat. Were you able to come up with any info on the Flathead? It's been on my list of to-dos even before I had the Cruiser. Haven't made it yet.

Haven't been able to get any more info from people that have actually been there, keep getting a lot of: "I've driven by", "had a buddy that went there years ago", etc. nothing new, but it's on my list.

Dave https://forum.ih8mud.com/members/audaciousduo.html has just moved to the area or is in the process. If your old blue is up to a trip, I am sure he would be interested, as long as it includes fly fishing. Not sure if he sold his 70 yet or not. But he does have his wife's 80 which he had planned to keep.
