Anyone interested in going to Harlan sometime this summer? I'd really like to go but would prefer a group to wheel with since I've never been there. June/July/August....

Let me check out their website and will let you know....since I pretty much just have tires, sliders, and oem skids with no armor other than that...want to make sure it wont kill my new baby. LOL

I would love to see the LX after a trip to Harlan. If you go I want to ride shotgun to witness a stock Hundy do Harlan.:grinpimp:

From what I've seen on youtube, it seems Harlan is more of the kinda place we'd take the 4Runner, not the FJC. Although Stan of TheToyOutfitters takes his FJC there....but he's got some body damage from Harlan....

I will pass...have no issues going up Daniel and rock garden in Uwharrie....but not that. LOL hell I might have done it in my FJ Cruiser after she was all armored up ...give me a year and will do it in 100 series.

if i had a beater with roll cage and 37s i would not give a s*** about it either....not a factor of the "group here" but rather the type of vehicles we run...

hell we cant get you and your 80 out or in club much less to do Daniel at Uwharrie...LOL

Should be a fun place to really try out the 4Runner's dual cases, TG dirty thirtys, hydro assist steering, and the 39" iroks.... :)

Ron, I finally have the ARB in the FJC.....can't wait to try it out! Might head up to URE for the day to do so... :)

the prob is no one here has a tow vech or tailer to carry my heavy bus if i broke down on the trail, one of my main reasons....
Last time i went and played in NC i was toted home.... NOT FUN and $$$

Others in club tow their rigs up for wheeling already so that is not true...if a club member broke down up there we would load his up and then he could drive the other one home....or if all else fails, many of us have tow straps in addition to snatch straps...so a tow could happen though you may have to help with gas.

plus running those big ass tires...you got to expect to break something unless you upgrade axles and diffs and driveshafts too...that is the price for going extreme young fella.

bbqboy has trailer, dbenke has trailer, scottjohnson has trailer...

next excuse....

We have a trailer!.....but we're in NC so that's no help LOL...

i am starting to think you dont like to wheel with us anymore...:) Watch out for high speed corners LOL

:flipoff2:

And don't be mad, I honestly couldn't make the last couple trips! :p

I would run Harlan with the 40, though the transfer case would probaly explode from all those crazy rock ledges and extreme angles. That way I could finally get the Orion that it deserves.

I have a trailer as well, and plan to tow my 40 to wheeling places even though she could drive home and back if need be. It jsut makes sense to have a trailer in case something brakes. It also makes sense to run longfield axles with tires 35" and larger.

Why haven'y you just downsized the tires to something less mall crawler and invested in a $250 rear aussie locker? That thing would be all kinds of reliable with 35's and a rear loacker. If you say because it cost money, then you shouldn't even be thinking about wheeling. You got to pay to play.

And before you start making comments about my imaginary rig wasting away in a barn in the country and my lack of a wheeling vehicle Brock, I have some pics for you later this weekend.;)

Agreed - we didn't go with longs but got the TG dirty thirties...even with 35" km2's, Thomas grenaded the birf at the Gulches.

We even trailer the FJC to URE...you never know what could break...and what a pain in the rear that would be...

How many of those trailers are rated for a load over 5,000lbs?
How about tow vech that wont cry towing that much weight?

all but 4 rigs from GDI are trailer queens....

you just look for reasons not to wheel that rig....

get off your ass and put smaller tires on it to make it more reliable or quit your whining....damn, if I did not know better would think you like the thought of owning the rig and talking about it more than actually driving it.

you sure your not a Bessinger family member...you are as cheap and whiney as him. :D :D LOL

haha na just been fixin one thing after another, after another, after another, just doin it bit by bit

Actually i was lookin into buyin one of those nice Big Green Eggs......
