Hardwood Flooring Installation Questions

Acclimation Question
I've heard that hardwood flooring needs to acclimate to the surrounding environment for a few days before installation. If I am installing in an unfinished house (with no current conditioned air/heat) do I still need to let this material cure before install? I ask because since the house is insulated/drywall up it seems to be just like a cave when I walk in. Temperature difference is present but not like we are heating in the morning and/or cooling in the evening.
Do I still need to let 3/4" finished hardwood sit in the environment a few days before installing? I've got some help this weekend so I wondered whether we could start right away.
