My control box is under the hood....good for keeping the dumbies from screwing with my winch....Bad for when I need it, and I'm knee deep in mud or water......

So I ran the control wire thru the firewall to inside the cab....

After having the control in the glove box for a week....I had a vision....and I wanted to be cooler then Jimmy(Chigoe) I went to the store and bought some switches.... One SPST and one DPDT.....made to fit in the factory slots....The single throw is a safety....the double throw is the actual control switch....

So now I can control my winch from the comfort of the cockpit!!!
And I still have the original controler in case I NEED to be somewere other then in the cab!!!
Jimmy still has the bigger winch....BUT....Mine is cooler!!!!

Good job, and a very useful mod. I need more switch space!

Very clean set up and supper Sweet! I really like the way that it blends and almost looks stock. Nice job!!

I am running the Allpro bumper and using the 8k Warn. With the control unit plug in the wrong place I simply had to go with wireless (because that's what I wanted anyway and was then able to justify to my better half why). I can't believe how nice it is to be able to run your winch from anywhere your line will get to. The majority of my winch usage has been for recovering other peoples vehicles, and this way I can have someone sit in the driver seat of my FJ (usually my wife, or other passanger) and I can run my equipment from a safe possition where I can see exactly what's going on.
