Benji, PM or email Eulcid. He's fooled around with it. The routing through the firewall should be the same for a 60 as it is on a 62. He uses his as a cruise control. I'm about to fix mine.

I have one on my FJ60 and IMO they are of little use off road. Being mounted on the lower dash and having to twist it so it won't catch you can't use it very well in place of your foot during wheeling. It very difficult to just give it a little gas with this throttle cable. The only thing I have found it useful for is to keep my rpms high enough to keep my ac compressor on at stop lights. Still need to fix that problem. It may also be helpful when using a winch.

I plan on using a bike cable with the thumb control on my shifter.

That AC problem is a really easy fix - there's a little knob in the pass footwell on a small box that you can adjust for your idle. The dial you turn is just smaller than a pencil eraser. I don't think you even have to take anything apart to get to it, IIRC. There may even be insturctions on what to look for in the Haynes manual, if you don't have the FSM.

Sorry for the hijack.

If your 60 is like mine then you do NOT need to run it thru the firewall or pay $80. Look and see if your pedal has the place to mount the end of the cable and the bracket by the pedal that the cable hooks to, if ya got that then $30 at Toyota will get you the cable and thats all you need. Yes this the OEM way its hooked up..........NOT thru the firewall.

I can take pics if ya want.

I really need to stop saying that.........it was ment to be an empty jester............:)

sure I will :)

Isn't this a stock factory thing? Or maybe just with the diesels?

And pimp, what's with that switch above your throttle?

Geoff

and stock on a fj62.

only with diesels for the PTO winch option or to set a slightly higher idle for warm up.

Thanks for the input. I guess I would still have to buy the hand throttle, cause 60s did not come with them (I think). Thanks for the mounting sugestion Pimp. Sounds like something that can be useful in many an instance.

Cheers
