Hello
I have a 99 tacoma ext cab v6 engine and my problem is with the hand brake light. I can't get the light in the dash to go out. All my brakes have been adjusted the bellcrank on both wheels are free and in good working condition but l cant find to adjust them to the required settings. The required amount of clicks are set at around 16 which should be ok. The hand brake handle does not go in all the way l'm wondering if this could be my problem. Is there a way to adjust that and where is the switch that turns that light on. Very frustrated

i know a few guys who have the same prob. and it seems to me that you are right about the handle not going in all the way, but like you i dont know where the dang sensor is

My truck does the same thing. I just fiddle with it for a few seconds while I drive until I find the 'sweet spot' where the light goes off. Doesn't seem to cause any mechanical problems, so I haven't dug into it yet. I may have to take a look at it though now that I know its not just my truck with the problem!
