After two years of planning and waiting I finally picked up my FJC on the 22nd (which is of course awesome), but noticed it was built at the Hamura plant by Hino Motors (Toyota affiliate). For some reason I thought was going to be built at the Tahara plant. Does anyone have an opinion of the Hamura or Hino quality?

Hino rocks man. There's nothing wrong with that. They make some of the most dependable and durable trucks in their market segment. Yota's had them under their umbrella for a while.

That's kind of what I thought. I think they made the Hilux, which was pretty good. From what I've read they have more of a history with heavy duty trucks.

You guys never noticed that Land Cruiser bodies are built by ARACO(or, formerly Arakawa)?

lol, who the heck would want their truck built in Ohio?!? Bwahahahaha.

Anywho... HINO makes these as well:
