I know there are no other Ham radio folks in the group but me (yet). However, for anyone interested there is a Hamfest SUNDAY out in Washington, Missouri. IT IS NOT SATURDAY, DESPITE MY TITLE THAT I CANNOT EDIT.

The flier is here: http://www.wa0fya.org/hamfest.pdf

Things start early (6am). Probably just a bunch of guys with boxes/crates full of radio and electronic gear. I'm not really looking for anything at this point, but figured I'd drive out and see what I find. If nothing else, probably a good place to pick up quality wire and electronic supplies for your next cruiser project. Also, probably good coax and connectors for your trail CB project (but don't mention CB - the Ham guys hate it :-).

Cheers.

BTW, if your looking at cruising for chicks, this is not the place to be. If you're a good looking female, it's not the place to be.

If you have some old POS chunk of wire, take it along. You'd be surprised what they'll buy.

Lot's of interesting stuff if you know what the heck you're looking at.

I agree with the first sentence, base on what I've seen.

But I gotta disagree with the second sentence - I strongly encourage all good looking females to attend and look for me

Notice that none of their websites ever have any pictures.

I should have noticed in my original post that Saturday is not July 20 - today (Sunday) is July 20 and today is the Washington hamfest.

This would explain why I drove all over the dang park and couldn't find anything remotely looking like a hamfest :bang::bang::bang::bang:

I did see a lot of very fit young women though - as yesterday morning was the Washington 'fun run' in the same location. It was fun for me to watch :D

I doubt I'll make it back out to Washington today given the family duties, but figured I should update my posting - I'll fix the original post.

I stopped and assisted WFD175 and MoJ in the repair of WFD's parking brake assembly - so there was some mud content and wrenching. Not to mention the really cool yellow Defender 90 that we stole from the garage of WFD's friend and drove around town and then did some light off-roading
