Is it just me, or do both of these diagrams depict two different ways of connecting the High Altitude Compensator Valve?

My 60 failed emissions, so I rechecked the vac lines for proper connections. I found that I had one of the check valves on backwards, but when I was going over the HAC Valve I found that the Toyota diagram and the Haynes diagram seem to contradict each other.

The way I've decyphered the Toyota diagram, it says:

No 8 vac line goes to HAC V Upper Center
No 9 - HAC V Upper left
No 12 - HAC V Upper Right

While the Haynes diagrams says:

No 8 - HAC V Upper Right
No 9 - HAC V Upper Center
No 12 - HAC V Upper Left

Am I reading this wrong?

The "haynes" diagram (which is a toyota diagram) is correct. The same diagram is shown in the emissions manual and the section on the HAC shows a similar connection scheme. "right" and "left" are determined when looking at the nipples (view from the engine looking towards the HAC valve).

The fenderwall diagram is difficult to interpret. I think the port marked "brown" would be closest to you when the valve is held in in the orienation shown on the diagram and this is the "upper right" nipple. The one with the semi-circle is center, and the other one is upper left.

Thanks for the info. I'll report back when its fixed.
