Hi guys

Does the H150/151 gearbox, which is a pumped lubed 'box, also have sealed ball bearing on the main input and output shafts, as in the splash lubed R151?

Info will be appreciated!

Cheers.

Hmm, I checked the EPC and the part numbers are different, I'm guessing it is sealed though.

As far as i understand, it is sealed to protect the ballbearings from metal shavings as the gearbox sheds it, due to normal wear. The pumped lubed 'box will supply a screened and thus cleaner oil to the gearbox. Hence my question.... also...if it doesn't have these sealed bearings, i might buy the petrol v6 with the H150 in instead of the 1HZ-R151 setup. But, if both have the sealed units....it doesn't matter that much to me that the H150 is much stronger.

thanks Jan

do you guys ever have issues with these bearings running dry and packing up?
here the guys seem to have problems with it in the R151 boxes. so the guys reckon the remedy is to remove the seal on the inner side, in order to get gearbox oil to lube them.

I have not seen this problem. The H151 that we rebuilt there had 400.000km on it, and the bearings were in great shape, including the sealed ones. No grumbling and smooth as new ones.
I know of two H150s with quite a lot of km's on them, and they are fine as well. And the only R151 I know has over 300k mms on it too and seems fine.

That's not a lot of experience, I know, but the point is that we have not seen this problem.
cheers,
Jan
