hey does anyone here know if our US GX470's can be fitted with the prado front bumper, hood, lights, fenders, etc? i just like the prado front end soooo much better.

Dont think prados are on the list of allowable vehicles. did the come with the same v8 in other countries as in the US? same for windows, seatbelts, DOT lights??
They did not come with V8 in other countries, as far as I know and have seen only the lexus version had the V8 gas engine, others had the 3.0 V6 and now the 4.0 V6 as well as the D4D 3.0 diesel.
Not many with automatic either usually has stick in it.

Just my 2 cents from driving both the prado and the Lex GX I would also say go with te Lexus and make some mods, the Lexus still blows away even the Prado Grande when it comes to cools stuff on the inside (bells and whistles). Check out my post on my 05' Gx470:

Majority of 120 Prado in Australia are Automatics however don't have the luxuries features that are in the GX470. Electronic gadgets are still widely frowned upon in 4x4/Offroad vehicles as there is nothing worse than being stuck 1000km from anywhere with complex electrical issues. I personally prefer the look of the GX470 mainly because the 120 Prado is so damn common in regional Australia.
I'm currently down in Australia and the Prado is everywhere. I really like em. It's a simplified SUV. However the price isn't cheap. A base model Prado will cost you more than as a fully decked out Lexus GX in the states. New Prado's run 65k base up to 95k for limited style versions. It's not just the Prado, most cars are very expensive in Australia. A new Rav 4 will run 40-55k.
Modding your hood, bumper and grill with Prado parts would probably cost you 8k easy.

Sorry to zombie this thread but I just picked up a "Dark Red Micah" 2007 Prado here in Tokyo and was looking to do the opposite...the prices for used GX fenders, hood, etc online are quite crazy. Anyone (preferably in Southern California) interested in a swap? Hood/fenders/bumper (already have GX headlights/fogs so you can keep yours but I'll provide the Prado Headlights/fogs)
