Just wanted to say it was nice to meet and wheel (ride) with everyone at Tellico; and I look forward to the next trip, wherever it may be. Working on the rig to overcome the heat issue; hope to have it solved within the next few weeks (the power of positive thinking at work here).

John, sir, those are excellent photos - Fred, will you be posting some or all of yours? I continue to be amazed at the things you guys can climb in your 40's; definitely something to aspire to.

Tim - if you're remotely interested, I'd like to talk turkey about the gauges you have laying around. Find myself wanting to more closely monitor the self-destruction of the 400...

Julio,

Here is a link to what I have. I think the white would look cool with your white truck. 2" Mechanical Oil, Mechanical Water, Volts & Fuel plus a tach (3 3/8"). They are brand new, with the boxes.

If you are interested, I'll throw in the dash panel I cut to fit them. I'm looking for something in between Thanksgiving turkey and public school lunch turkey (the fuzzy kind that taste like bologna). We can work something out.

Coolio

Coolio,

Most excellent about the gauges- yes, let's talk Turkey, or perhaps lunchables? The little ones with the Capri Sun in them are especially tasty...how about at the next BBRC meeting? Rich and I are planning to car pool down, if time permits.

I have indeed found the problem, and it is now laying on a pallet on the floor... after a bit of flushing and farting around, it doesn't seem like there is anything wrong with the engine, at least that I can find. It ran great and stayed cool in the short trips around town. I think it is just a bad choice of an engine for a wheeling rig.

So, I now have the beginnings of a fairly respectable junkyard - can I interest you in any used parts? Perhaps a serpentine setup, or maybe a transfer case and 4 speed? How about a SBC 400 double-pumper for that rat rod you've always wanted? :grinpimp:

Julio

Glad to hear that you will be coming to the metting. I might know somebody that wants the 400 give me a pice and I will forward it to them
