Registration is open, for the 25th annual Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride (GSMTR), at www.stlca.org/gsmtr/ . The event is May 16-21, 2016 at Wind Rock Park, Oliver Springs, TN (near Oak Ridge) This park is 72,000 acres with over 300 miles of trails from mild to wild, something for everyone.

Your registration includes: Free primitive camping, Thursday evening Chile Super, Friday evening Hamburger Cookout and Band and Saturday evening BBQ meal and Raffle plus a T-shirt and event decal.

I went in 2014 and it was at Windrock. Location is good. 625 miles from Columbia. Excellent folks at this event for the most part. Great trails although they are often a drive away from the campsites. Sometimes 10-15 miles away. Long hill climbs I think on trail 36. Definitely get your heart pumping. Some ledges. Not the same close and wild wheeling as SMORR. But worth the trip if you can get away!!!
