Yup the 69 ran for the first time today oil pressure good temp was fine break in complete! Exhaust sounds good but isn't as loud as the 74 (yeah)! Still have work to do but it sure is nice to hear that motor come to life!

CONGRATS!!!

I like the name Bella. So we have Matti and Bella. I have often thought I should name my Cruiser but just can't come up wih a name. I liked Ole Red, but it is to southern and reminds me of a coon hound. Hmmmmm:hhmm:

I like ole Red! any member of the family has to have a name right???

My thought... A name is ESSENTIAL!!
When there's passion behind the vehicle and what that vehicle DOES FOR YOU, it deserves the respect of a name.
That's just me... I do tend to over think things.
It's funny how the people around you and said rig , get to KNOW the name of the rig.
When I say "blotch rig", everyone one knows the rig. When I say "matti" everyone KNOWS the rig.
Makes me smile!! :)

I have been meaning to ask "BLOTCH"?

Lol...
BLOTCH is another "wheeling club" that I belong to. We do ONE RUN, every year, in Death Valley.
That was my first exposure to wheeling and what got me hooked!!
I was invited and rode passenger and was so impressed w/ wheeling it prompted me to buy my own rig (BLOTCH RIG) which was an FJ62 wagon. I got that, was referred here to MUD. Shortly after that, RustyTLC told me about BBCNN... Went to one meeting and have infected the club ever since!!
BLOTCH changed my life!! :)
They are a pretty rowdy bunch.

Sounds fun I look forward to hearing more about this death run !

Krusty, how about Big Red?

My truck has been called Old Rusty by the family for years. Who knows where that came from, it beats me.

Sent via the ether from my candy bar running ginger bread

BeBe got her name from my grandfather. Really it was his "inheritance" that allowed me to finally buy a truck after looking for so long. And much like my grandfather, BeBe is simple, just goes, and loves to be out and about. However, my grandfather got the name BB for a different reason, it was back when he played short stop in highschool and in military ball and was known for his BB gun arm and accuracy.

Ya, my rig should have a name. I forgot about Old Rusty--thought it was just Rusty (for obvious reasons:)). And BeBe also-cool story about your Grampa. Big red would be Ok but it just needs to fit it the first time I hear it. Haven't been able to make up my mind. Will keep trying. Sometimes when I go over something difficult on the trail and it works well, I think in my head "that will do Pig"(from the movie Babe) So "Pig" but that has kind of been used by FJ55. Babe would work also but sometimes I use that for my wife. So hard to name something I am so happy with and it has just been Cruiser for so long. Oh well I will think of something.:hhmm:

Matti was ORGINALLY, "THE BRUISE"!!
THAT could still apply seeing is how she is black and blue.... I wanted something a bit more alive.
I ended up consulting "girl names and meanings"
It HAD to be female, and had to represent strength!!
MATILDA= powerful battler. "Tilly" would actually be the shortened name for "Matilda", but julez liked "matti" better.
I talk to her when were wheeling and driving.
Mark,
That's a good story about you saying "good job pig" when you clear a big obstacle!! Heart warming to hear that I'm not the only one talking to their rig!! :)

Important News:) Drumm roll please...

I have Named my Cruiser "CLANCY" My favorite author is Tom Clancy and the other day my daughter wanted to know of some spy war books like The book Lone survivor that she was reading..so I thought of Tom Clancy. I liked him even more when he was interviewed about a month before he died and was asked what is wrong with America. He answered " The main thing wrong with America is that we keep electing idiots" I looked up the etymology of the name and it is Irish coming from the son of Flannahadn. I was surpried and amazed it means "Red Warrior" So it even fits my color scheme.

Long live Clancy the red warrior Crusier;p

AAAAAAAAAH!!

Congrats on the OFFICIAL naming of the rig, Mark!!
Sounds good and fits!!!

Congrats!! Im thinking of changing Bella to another name that starts with a B :bang:. I now have the fuel tank at A1 Radiator being boiled out so that I stop plugging fuel filters every 30 seconds. One thing after another with this old girl!
