LOoking for more gadgets for the FJ.
What's the best GPS that fits well and has large read out.

Thanks.

I can't comment on fit, but I've had two Tom Toms (crap) and my GARMIN has always worked incredibly well.

Buddy of mine just had a Pioneer head unit installed in place of the FJammer. It has GPS NAV, Digital speedo, tach, inclinometer, etc etc. Very nice....but not a small amount of coin. Large display, easy operation...but I have no experience with anything else...

I have the Toyota Garmin unit that is built in and removeable. I like that I can just close the thing whenever I want, and I don't have to look at it all the time. I also like that I can take it out and go hiking or boating with it. The biggest bummer about the Toyota Quest 2 is the reception is not good without a booster antenna (which I just ordered) and the software can not be updated. Most people are now buying the installation kit from Toyota and then buying a non-Toyota Garmin Quest 2 to put in the vehicle. The screen is a little small, but it did save me some money because I just use the one unit for our four cars. :) Good luck!

I purchased the Pioneer AVIC Z1 and have been very pleased with-it so far. The stereo sounds far and away better than the stock unit and the GPS has been flawless. It does have a large screen and is relatively easy to use for the basic functions. I have the Bluetooth installed and will probably get the ipod sooner or later.

There have also been some FJ owners who have installed the Eclipse unit which I think is similar to the Pioneer.

Ok NIX that. I just checked it out, and the Eclipse unit uses a TOM TOM insert.

For off road, nothing beats the Garmin RINO 530hcx. A bit spendy, but well worth it. For on road, the Garmin Street Pilot c550 has served me well.
