Otherwise know as Cucamonga Big Tree Trail. I belong to a group that has this trail as one of our Adopt-A-Trails. The trail has been closed since 04 when that whole area was heavly damaged by fire. If your not familiar with it, it runs 23 miles from Lytle creek across the front of Mt Baldy to Skyline rd. We only ran about 13 miles of it because landslides have made some of the trail impassable. One of our goals for the day was to relocate a really big gate (One of those monster forest service gates)from it's place before Joe Elliot campground, to just past it. When we are finished in a few months the trail will again be open to all, at least up to the campground and the gate about a mile further. The plan is to fully restore the trail along it's entire length. If the SBFS will let us. Here are a few pic's. There are more pic's on my web site. Just follow the link in my sig, then click the link on the homepage that says ROC Adopt-A-Trail.
