Got my tree Christmas from the Rubicon! (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Just thought I'd let everyone know we just cut down our tree today. We drove up the Rubicon trail just a little ways past the staging area. We got a great 11' tree! Got the permit in Tahoe City.

Overall. it was a great day with the family!

How was the weather? We were thinking about heading up there in a week or so. My buddy ran it last year in mid December and said it wasn't bad then...but after this storm we just had, I don't know!!

When we were up there the trail was a sheet of ice and we were in a blizard . We didn't go through any obstacles, we only went a little past where the pavement ends at the staging area (not sure which one that is, I don't know the trail). We got about 2 feet of snow in Truckee and are expected to get a bunch more starting Thursday.

I'll post some pics in a few days, I'm in Denver right now on a business trip.

If you were by a lake it was Loon, if you were in the woods by a campground it was Wentworth Springs.

If I lived in Truckee, I would go to the staging area at Tahoma, it would be a little closer.
