Fishing pole mount?

Real useful in Baja, and even for running from camp spot to lake/river.

Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of getting the ARB in the first place? Might as well get the Slee bumper if you're gonna go that route.

I personally love the Slee bumper, but since I haul canoes the brush guard would make a great place to hook tie-downs without rubbing on the hood paint. I also like the tabs for limb risers idea. Anyway, if you ever plan on hauling things like canoes, something to think about...

Definitely not. MYSHERPA is right, might as well go Slee, my original choice but the :princess: prefers the ARB.

^^^ very clean indeed.

So I was thinking about access into my engine bay with the 4" lift coming. Anyone mounted fold down steps?

We use the larger ones on the fire trucks at work and they are stout and big. The smaller one on the right is stout enough and I have a few squirreled away for that exact use in the future.

Size 11 boot for comparison on the larger style.

As for the engine bay step, I use a little tray I cut to hook over the mid-bar under the lights, and it has swivel legs that the feet I made swivel down to hit the lower part of the vertical surface of the bumper.

the legs are an "H" shape & made out of 1" pipe I threw rubber feet caps from ACE hardware store, and I welded little limiters to the deck side to keep the feet from rotating too far. Deck is ~12" wide & ~14" long. Overall it's like the tray you buy for the Little Giant brand of ladders. when open it looks like a "7" on the front bumper - good to kneel on for motor work, keeps hands from putting pressure on the radiator or breaking the little overflow tube nipple. One of these days I'll bolt a piece of pipe with a capped bottom to hold parts & such when working, or deeper could hold wrenches & rachets/extensions on end, recreationally when a seat it would work for a beer, or bait when I use it to sit on & face out from the truck.

As for the tow eyes - great plan, those stockers are a joke. I'd cut some I-beam in half, cut those eyes out of the bumper & weld then in from the back since you now have a "T" shaped piece to poke through. For ease cut the hole in it first, JAT.

As for the seat/work platform - you could use the roller fairlead by making 2 "L'" shaped legs to s=drop through the holes & long enough the bar hits the bumper verical part (~6" vert) - but you would be stuck only able to put on in the middle. Better than nothing.

Too bad you are so far away - some PO already powdercoated my LX450 ARB to match when it had the cladding on it (gone now) - I'd trade for a black one as I don't really care either way.

Check out my front bumper here

Real men don't need these things.....:flipoff2:

Fixed it for ya :flipoff2:

Yes we all know you just let the air outta the front tires

damn it, I'm busted......

I have to say, those step things that go around the front tire is a nice way to access the engine bay. Otherwise, using a simple stool on the ground is rather precarious as you lean way into the engine bay, the stool slides out from under you.

I like my Slee A/C Drier protector. Pretty much an expedition rig here, too. The Slee follows the lines of the lip, so if you're gonna trim, you'll want to consider whether you can relocate it upwards to follow. Not sure exactly how much you have to work with in terms of changes still protecting the drier.

Guess what I'm saying, without some additional work, trimming the lip and adding the Slee plate are kinda incompatible.

Yeah DYNOSOAR and I pretty much figured that out as soon as we saw it. We may just fabricate something to use in the meantime until I find a good JDM solution for the drier placement.
