Has anyone cut the 'bull bar' off their ARB?

Has anyone cut the 'bull bar' off their ARB? Pictures??

I have an ARB commercial bar with a 8274, that's the reason I went with the commercial bar, but I don't really like how busy the front of the truck looks. I'm looking for something a little cleaner.

I got in an accident and insurance covered the bar, so it didn't really cost anything, but now I'm thinking of triming the bull bar off so I just have the bumper.

I would trade for something that would hold the 8274, but other than that would just look at trimming it up.

Anyhow, my question is, can someone post a pic of how this looks and offer any opinions on how to make the trimmed ARB look finished again after cutting the bar off?
(I know there was a picture of one with the bar cut off floating around, I just can't find it not:rolleyes:)

thanks!

Jeff

I didn't like the look of the the bars, so I chopped mine off when I bought the ARB. I'm sure a few others have done it as well.

I think it looks cleaner and better. It would be great if Allpro offered their style of bumper ('05 Tacoma) for the 80, as that's the style of bumper that I like, clean, trim, and tucked up.

The ARB has some odd lines and angles.

there is a thread about bullbars here that shows a Paik ( IIRC ) bull bar that's pretty much an ARB without the upper bars ..

IMOP looks damn nice ..

Do you recall the thread by chance?

This is airlaird's modified ARB. I dig the heck out of his version.

That is my custom ARB/prerunner bumper I designed. ( I have always thought the ARB's bar design had a "snowplow" look and was rather dated. I simply cut off the bars, redesigned them and used the ARB base.

If you are going to do that much booty fab, why not just make a sturdy bar from scratch?:hhmm:  The lower bar on the ARB is pretty wimpy, I can't imagine that cutting off the upper cage isn't going to make it worse.
