i found a polaris ranger crew for sale at a good price.. the issue i have is that the owner dose not have a title.. he says that he aquired the polaris as payment for a job he did. i know that in my state atv/utv must be titled .. should i just pass on this deal or is there any way to get this thing and avoid any possible issues down the road.

i ran the vin and it came up clean.

any help wouuld be appreciated.

You didn't specify your state. Here in the Texas, ATV/UTV are titled and the VIN are tracked if stolen. You can always ride it on private property, but if you go on public property and the VIN was checked by a public official, they will arrest and confiscate the vehicle if the title holder ever report it stolen.

The kid that was riding my ATV was charged with possession of stolen property even though he "claimed" he bought it from someone. The local DA ask me for my statement but would not let me testify for obvious reasons as I have little tolerance for criminals...

im in Florida

Get the previous owner to file a lien and get the proper title on it before you buy it. Getting hauled in on a possession of a stolen property might not be good when you are out on a family outing...
