I am searching for an LX570 for the wife and I think I found a good deal but I would like your advice on what to look for. Year is 2008 and price will be around $43K, under 60K miles, no rust, always dealer serviced (per VIN search).

Is there anything I need to be concerned about or that I must check? On the LX470 everyone is always concerned about the height control / suspension system. Anything like that to worry about on a LX570?

Thank you.

Wife and I bought a 570 onThanksgiving and just went through this. In particular, look for signs of leakage at the waterpump. You can see it from the top or if you crawl underneath looking from the driver side (see - http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/tundra/222753-5-7-leaking-water-pump-comon/) . Also check leakage at the valve cover gaskets by looking into the passenger or driverside wheel wells (see: http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/5-7-liter-i-force-v8/9414-oil-leaking-valve-cover-cam-tower.html); Lexus powertrain warranty covered my leak last week but produced more problems which I'll write a thread about later. Insert the VIN on lexus.com to check history. Check all the powered goodies (power tailgate(s), etc), seats, coolers, heaters, windows, sunroof, etc.. Good luck!

Thanks. What was the mileage on your 570? Do you think $43K is a good deal compared to your truck?

It was being sold at a Benz dealer and asking price was $47.5k; We paid $46.5k+TTL out the door. It had 58k miles at the time. It does not have the armrest cooler, but it was meticulously maintained by previous owners at the dealer with all records. We didn't buy any extended warranties and the water pump definitely wasn't leaking when we purchased it. It has 63k now and I noticed the water pump and oil leaks. Thankfully, it was replaced under the powertrain warranty (6yr/70k). IMHO $43k is a good price, but I'm not sure on your area. Just scour autotrader/cars.com to get a feel for pricing and compare. In my market analysis I just made sure that it wasn't involved in any accidents, minimal rust, no scratches/dents, and made sure it was already state inspected. Push every button that you can find and make sure it works including the roofline. More than likely, it will be okay, but you never know. Also, make sure you do your homework on financing and comparisons for interest. I did have to get new tires due to snow this season, but that's it. Only other maintenance I've done is: oil/filter change and readjust the headlights because they were pointed too low. I'll be putting HIDs soon. The power in the 5.7 compared to the 4.7 is ridiculous. Crawl control actually works on ice as my wife couldn't get up the driveway until she used that function.
