Need to get out, so going w/ fam to Melmont and probably run 1/4 of surprise lake trail. Probably won't go past 'the hard part'.

I'll post back up here by 9pm. Just a heads up in case I go missing. =D

Melmont was pretty cool. Nice little hike, was fun climbing on / underneath the bridge.

Couldn't quite get past the stump halfway up Surprise Lake. The mild AT's and no locker, just kept spinning.

Nice. At least you got out for a bit. Other than the tires, how did the rig do? Happy with your purchase? Was there any snow yet?

It did great. Put a dent in my clean 80 though, lol. Lil dent in the d side door from the stump. Had to happen sometime. Made it way past where I thought it would- no real clearance issues if you're careful. Just ran outta traction. I still remember just idling up that same spot right after we put the locker in my FZJ- Makes ya appreciate it. I ended up with some 33" BFG KO AT's at work. Just waiting on 16" wheels and a locker, and I should be good to go.

The truck is solid. Went through the ignition system, new fuel filter and oil change. Runs great. Still some baselining to do, gonna desmog probably and go through the birfs. After that and some diff fluid changes I think she'll be pretty much 100%.

No snow to be found. Talked to some Jeepers on the way down (who helped me back up the from the stump to the first available place to turn around, tricky) and they said no snow up top yet either.
